Antonio's Mexican Food & Grill: Authentic Tex-Mex Cuisine in Port Hueneme

Really great authentic Mexican food. Antonio served us and everybody was friendly. Some of the best salsa I've had in a long time. Recommend this place if you're coming up. Pacific Coast highway.

Update 9/6/25 We are back at Antonios for anther seafood burrito and chicken burrito. Ramon and Abelita are in my photo. They are the owners who make sure that the food is tasty and fresh. While we were eating the Oxnard firemen came in to eat. There is always a steady stream of people at Antonios. Great owners and excellent food. You will love Antonios. Update 8/27/24 We had another delightful meal at Antonio’s. Ramon is in the picture under the sign. The Seafood burrito is outstanding. The wet chicken burrito is full of flavor and comes with a side of beans and rice. We can recommend Antonios to anyone who love authentic and full of flavor Mexican food. Antonio’s is a hidden jewel in Port Hueneme. I was recommended Antonio’s by a family member that lives in Port Hueneme. The first thing that you notice it the constant stream of people coming in to pick up their orders. The bags are lined up and ready to pick up. Is it a family business with Ramon and Alex at the helm. They are the very welcoming and can recommend many popular dishes. They have been there since 2005 and survived the covid shutdown. I can see why they did. Look at my photos. I got the Seafood burrito. It is the best seafood burrito that I have ever had. When Alex was bringing it out. A customer asked what that dish was because it looks like a work of art. Again, look at my photos. My girlfriend got the chicken burrito and it was also excellent. The salsa is perfectly spicy and the chips are fresh. The parking is plentiful and there is plenty of room with a lot of seating. I highly recommend Antonio’s Mexican Food Restaurant.

We have lived in Port Hueneme for 7 years now and had never tried this spot because friends and acquaintances told us it wasn't good. But about 2 months ago I decided to give it a try, and boy I shouldn't have listened to those people. This place is a really nice sit down mexican food spot. The chips and salsa are my favorite in the whole area. The food is pretty good as well. Im just glad I tried it because now it's my go to sit down mexican style restaurant. I like the crispy tacos and the chili relleno, my husband likes the enchiladas. They have good drinks as well. The price range for the food is very affordable and you get really good service. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint. If you're in the area and want a quiet sit-down meal with friendly staff and good food, this should be your spot.

Great food, reasonable prices, and nice people that run this place! Ordered grilled shrimp, carne asada, and a burrito. Everything was delicious! The free chips and salsa was great as well. Service was quick and helpful. The pitcher of margaritas is always a good call :)

Such a great spot! Beers come ice cold, salsa is on point, tasty food, and fast friendly service. My go tos here are the Steak Picado and shredded beef burritos. They have taco Tuesdays and an awesome Sunday brunch buffet. Highly recommend if you're ever in the area. Tell Ramon, Alex, and Juan I say hi!

My first time here and I was very impressed! I love the decor, service was fast and the steak fajitas were the best I've ever had! They came with a side of rice and beans, chips & salsa. All for $16.00 plus tax & tip of course

In town for work and this is right across the street from the Holiday Inn. The atmosphere is pretty and relaxing, music is appropriate, good volume, and varied. The establishment is impeccably clean. My server was fast and attentive, but also patient. When asked for a recommendation, he didn't hesitate. House made chips and freshly made salsa served complimentary (salsa was tasty! ) I had a Chile Relleno a la carte (delicious, but not the best I've ever had). It was the Menudo that stole the show! Served every day, made in-house ... it was FULL of all the goodies. Every spoonful has tripe, and it didn't have "too much" hominy. They served a plate with generous portions of fresh cilantro, good quality oregano, chili flakes, onions and a couple lemons. SO GOOD. Pro tip (controversial): throw just a couple spoonfuls of the salsa into the Menudo... the flavors really go well together.

My Aunt surprised me with a birthday lunch at Antonio’s on Monday, April 7, 2025. The place had a relaxed vibe, and the food was quick and delicious. The chips were fresh and hot, and the salsa was tasty. But here’s the thing: there was only one waiter, and it was a bit slow. There were still a few tables of people eating, so I don’t think it was his fault. He was just busy cleaning. When he finally got to us, he just handed us the bill. I might give it another try sometime, though. The food was still pretty good, and it was fast. Maybe next time, I’ll take my husband here for dinner and see if it’s different.
